Re: FLOODING- WE ARE in BRISBANE!

No doubt many of you around the world have been hearing about
the terrible flooding in Australia around the Brisbane-Toowoomba
area. Well, my family and I have been house-sitting a friend's home 
in North Brisbane for the last couple of weeks before we begin
our Australia tour in late January. I don't know how it happens,
but we always seem to arrive just in time for a major disaster
or some extreme-weather event!

But there is nothing "light" about what is taking place here right 
now. Tragically, a massive water-surge tore through Toowoomba
and other towns to the West of Brisbane yesterday - killing a
number of people and causing major destruction. This same tide
is headed downriver towards Brisbane. We are about 5 miles out
of Strathpine (Nth Brisbane) - which received an evacuation alert
for its low-lying areas today. But so far it is not too terrible - and
we are not on the low ground ourselves. But parts of Brisbane 
expect a very torrid night - and tomorrow as well. Please keep this 
region in your prayers, my friends. Many are having to leave their 
homes. And the rain is still falling.
