                         As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord ´

              “Igniting soul’s through the proclamation of Jesus Christ”.

 

Now unto the King, Eternal, an interesting word which is probably one of the most incomprehensible words in our vocabulary.  Actually it doesn't even do well to attempt to define "Eternal" since there is nothing with which to compare it.

 

Our Focus Scripture: "Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever.  Amen."

(I Timothy 1:17)

 

The word "eternal" implies no beginning and no end, like a never-ending circle.  In order to attempt to put it into perspective in light of time, you may imagine standing in the center of a huge cylinder and on the wall is a tiny line about 1/8" long, that is time in relation to eternity.  The cylinder has no beginning and no end, yet there is a tiny line, span, which represents just a small facet of time as compared to the huge expanse of the cylinder.

 

Let us Pray: “Father, in light of Who You are and Your vast and inexplicable and incomprehensible greatness, we stand in awe of You.  Lord, You are no less involved in orchestrating the details of our lives, thank You for that.  May each of us, in whatever season of life You find us today, be tuned to what You're saying, what You're doing and then may we be responsive to Your leadership and Your calling and Your voice in our lives so that You can be glorified as we are men and women who walk with You.  Your eternal existence is more than our frail and finite mind can comprehend, however, we know that there is none that can compare with You, no not one!  Lord, how we lift up Sisters and Brothers in Christ who are looking in to this today, who are discouraged, frustrated, who are thinking about giving up on their relationships, their marriages.  They may think they can't possibly go on.  O’ Lord, may You assure them of Your love.  May You assure them that You are in all things working to bring about Your purposes in their lives, in their husbands', wives, or that significant others lives, and perhaps in generations to come.  We pray that You will give grace to endure, not just today but tomorrow and the next day and the next day so that when they, we, stand before You in eternity, we will all be able to say, "O, God, by Your grace, I was faithful."  Thank you that You are faithful and able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of Your glory with the exceeding joy.  You are truly Awesome throughout all eternity!  In Thy Name, Christ, O’ Lord we do pray.  Amen.”

 

Our King is eternal, from before the beginning to long after the end, without time yet within time.  He exists in the past, the present and the future all at once, He is "I Am"!  Meditate on this attribute of our Lord today and your trust and faith in Him is sure to abound as you realize the vastness of His expanse, the greatness of our God!

 

“The Eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms,”  (Deuteronomy 33:27)
