'As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord´
"Igniting soul's through the proclamation of Jesus Christ".
If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not!
This is an activity for all to enjoy and learn in, write as well as read. We call this "Weekend Scripture Share", as you will clearly see why. What we would like everyone to do is to post any verse or portion of the Word from your Bible. Along with the portion of Scripture you may place thought, comment, or question. The post does not need be long or short, can be one verse and simply said, "my favorite".
Galatians 2:17, "But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid." KJV
"If the people find out that that woman attends our Church we will be the laughingstock of the community." Most in my little Church in the eighties did not want to allow anyone with a publicly sinful background to attend. If we did, the community would think we feel that such behavior is acceptable and laugh at us behind our backs. I responded by saying that a Church is a hospital for sinners not an exclusive club of perfect people.
Christ Himself ate with known sinners. Eating with a person in the Jewish culture was seen as acceptance of the person and his lifestyle. Jesus also often stayed with prostitutes and received support from them during His ministry. Jesus cared more about people than public opinion and taught all that the sinners needs attention and support from those who have a cure.
A doctor breathes the air of his patient, he touches disease and puts his health at risk to cause a cure. How could a doctor heal if he refused to go to his patient and how could the ill person heal if barred from the hospital because he was sick? Just because Jesus loves sinners does not mean that He condones the sin. Jesus the Christ, God among us came and walked on earth to heal all because all are bound to sin and anyone that says he or she has no sin is a liar and lacks access to the truth. Whatever does not come from faith is sin (Romans 14:23) and all human beings are always guilty of some lack of faith! Life constantly challenges faith in Christ, tests it and demands a response. Those who say they never falter are liars!
Jesus is the great physician and His Church is the great hospital for sinners. All of Christ's servants are physician's assistants ministering health. The healing is applied to the sinner with freedom from bondage to sin through faith in the gift of forgiveness accomplished by Jesus the Christ by the shedding of His innocent blood. New life in Him is the result of the treatment.
Anyone who may be moved in the Spirit to respond or blessed to participate please feel free to do so. The point of these activities have been directed and set up by God to fellowship in the Word and learn from one another. I am not a teacher in the Word, nor Pastor, but a Brother in the Family of God and called to His fellowship. I make mistakes and certainly may not see something in the same way as you, therefore always open to corrective criticism so long as it is spoken in the Spirit and conforms with the Bible which I believe to be the Living Word of God.
Love in the Lord
