"Igniting soul's through the proclamation of Jesus Christ".

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. The Lord God Almighty celebrates our willingness to serve Him, to love Him, to obey Him. He who is "mighty to save" celebrates our freedom in Him, a freedom that is a memorial to the completed work of the Cross!

Today's Focus in the Word of God: "The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

The Lord takes "great delight" in me? What is it about me that could possibly be delightful to Him? He "will rejoice over (me) with singing"? O' my! God is with us! That's the great message of the story of Jesus, Matt. 1:23. That's the message of hope Zephaniah gives the defeated people of God. God is among us. He is mighty to save. He loves us. He delights in us. He stills the storms of our hearts with His loving touch. He sings us lullabies of joy. God longs to be close to us and invites us to draw near. What will your response be? "You are mine! My righteousness and glory are yours. Enter into your Father's eternal reward!" One day, all of us who belong to God will hear something like this. If we are in Christ and living for Him, we don't face judgment, only welcome, before God. His Spirit lives in us. His grace has set us free from the power of sin and death. His Son has paid the price for our sins. We are children of God!

Listen my friend, when we walk free of the bondage of sin, it causes great celebration in the Throne-room of Heaven. After all, "it is for freedom that Christ has set us free." It is for freedom's sake that we are admonished to not let ourselves "be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Let us Pray: "Abba Father, thank You for freeing us from the guilt and power of sin. Your steadfast and redeeming love never ceases. Your mercies are endless. Your love is new and fresh every morning as Your Spirit fills our life and Your hope revives us to face another day. Please empower and transform each of us by Your Spirit so that we can leave our sinful past behind and live a life of character and blessing in our family, in our work, in Your Church, and in Your world. Father, strengthen thy resolve as we turn away from evil and seek to draw near to You. We don't want any imitation relationship with You. We don't want some artificial symbol of You. We want to know You. Father, there are areas in our life that are still not surrendered totally to You. We struggle with these areas, Lord, and we want to be free. We want to know that You delight in us personally because You see in us the freedom that You sent Jesus to accomplish in us and for each one. Father, lead us to Your freedom, to Your victory, for Your glory! We want to experience Your presence and to be used as Your tool of grace in the lives of others. We need Your presence to settle the disquietude of thy soul. Thank You for being near. Teach us, Lord, to be quieted with Your love, secure in Your arms, and at rest in Your presence. In Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen."

Read today's focus verse again, "The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Can you imagine Him taking great delight in you? Wouldn't you love to be quieted with His love? Don't you want that assurance that He rejoices over you with singing? Well, my friend, "the Lord your God is with you" and "He is mighty to save"! He has saved you from sin. He has broken every chain that binds you. He has set you gloriously free to serve Him! He has loosed you from every yoke of slavery. You are free! And, when you walk in that freedom, He takes Great Delight in you. When you walk in obedience, He quiets you with His Love. O' yes, He rejoices over you with singing. All because of the freedom with which Christ has set you free.

Grace and freedom are not a license to sin, Jude 4. In fact, sin enslaves us, sin is addictive, John 8:34. As those for whom the old person of sin has died and been buried with Jesus in baptism, we are not to let sin reign over us or become our master because we have been liberated by grace, Rom. 6:1-14. So let's seek the power of the Holy Spirit to cleanse us, Heb. 9:14, and powerfully liberate us from sin, Rom. 8:10-15. Let's use our freedom to bless and build others up. Let's use our freedom to offer our hearts and lives to the work of God.

Praise God! We are delivered from law-keeping and enabled to live out the will of God in our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. We're closing out this year in the next couple of days. Why not make a fresh and renewed commitment to the Lord to walk in the freedom He purposed for you? You've been made free. Take advantage of that freedom and be delightsome in the eyes of the Lord your God who is with you. He is Mighty to save and set you free, totally free! Amen! If the Lord shall set you free, you shall be free indeed!

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8:1-2)
