Love of the Bible To the majority of people the Bible is a great story that tells about the history of the Jewish nation. Few admire it for what it really is; the very words of God. In chapter 119 of the book of Psalms, the writer consistently writes about his love and admiration for the law, or word, of God. For instance in verse seven the writer says "I will praise You with uprightness of heart, when I learn of your righteous judgments." And in verse 54 we read "Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage." Do you love the word of God? Do you desire knowledge of it more than material wealth? The word of God is what sustains us day to day. It is "a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (vs. 105). God's word also keeps us from being ashamed (vs. 6), keeps us clean (vs. 9), keeps us from sin (vs. 11) and strengthens us (vs. 28). Every person should wake up each day with a longing to learn more about our Creator. Though others may "persecute me without a cause my heart stands in awe of Your word" (vs. 161).
