An Ant's Lesson "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; Consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no chief, Overseer, or ruler, Provideth her bread in the summer, And gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as a robber, And thy want as an armed man (Proverbs 6:6-11)." Nature not only provides proof for the existence of God (Romans 1:20), but also many valuable lessons on how to live. One great lesson comes from the lowly ant. It works and works while it is warm out, when gathering can be done. In the colder months, when gathering cannot be done, the ants have food enough to avoid starvation. They know what they need to do without anyone, or thing, giving them direction. Like the ants, we were created for a purpose, to serve God. Let us work to please the Father that when the end of time comes we won't be found wanting.
