"Eternal Employment"
Text: James 1:22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own
selves.
Today unemployment may be at its all time high, it may have only been
higher during the times of the Great Depression. Many people today who do
find
a job are in most cases accepting what ever they can find to earn a weekly
salary. Electrical, chemical, construction and engineers of every type are
accepting
what ever means of employment they can find. Unemployment is one of life's
conditions that can bring the high man low, unemployment can humble a man
quicker
than the word of God. Unemployment can open the eyes of a man to the truth
of what is going on in our society with a quickness that is quicker than the
two edged sword of the word. Unemployment will cause a man to look at
himself during his time of idleness and cause him to wonder why? And in his
wondering
he may see Jesus.
My friend unemployment will only last for a season because now days
jobs come and go and the average life of your employ now with most companies
is
just seven years. Where as, years ago you could depend upon life time
employment with a company. I want to tell you that no matter what the
condition is
in society the Lord has a job that will guarantee eternal employment for you
in his kingdom. The Lord calls us to be a "doer of the word and not hears
only". There is a position for you in the kingdom of God.
To be able to do for God is one of the greatest honors that God can
bestow upon a man. The rewards of kingdom work are greater than the mind of
man
can comprehend and payday is coming after while. Go into all the world and
preach the gospel, broadcast the goodness of God and tell of his free gift
of
salvation to every man. My friend don't neglect this work of salvation, don'
t let it slip from your hands. How shall we escape if we neglect so great
salvation?
The Lord has a universal call for all men to come unto him. He is not
a respecter of persons, he has eternal employment for the rich, for the
poor,
black and white, yellow, red and brown, educated and the uneducated, who so
ever let him come. Call the sick, call the maim, call the blind, who so ever
will let him come and be a doer of the word of God. Softly and tenderly
Jesus is calling, calling all sinners to come home. Come home, come home,
Jesus
is calling, come home.
