"Sleep in Comfort and Peace"
Psalm 3:5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
People who aren't confident in God during their day time living will
not be confident in God nor themselves in their midnight hours of sleeping.
It
is extremely important that a man sleeps in comfort and in peace not having
problems plague his mind. You can easily tell if a man or woman had a good
nights rest without worries and cares by looking at his or her face in the
morning. The worries and cares of this world that plague many people at
night
can be seen in their faces the next morning. All men have troubles and
trials in their life but it takes the power of God working in a man's life
to enable
that individual to sleep in comfort at night.
It is important that one's body sleeps in comfort and peace. Jesus
said, that I will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on me. We
need
a resting mind in Jesus to heal a sin sick soul. Spiritual sickness and the
problems of this world will destroy the body. However, a quiet and
comforting
rest in Jesus will bring healing to both the body and the soul. I have found
out from my personal sicknesses that when I rested in God this gave strength
to my body to heal its itself. Jesus told one young lady to be of good
comfort because her faith has made the whole.
It is an unwavering faith in God that will enable you to sleep in
comfort. Approximately a third of our life is spent sleeping therefore this
is a
very important time to us because we spend so mush time at it. So why not
sleep in peace and in the comfort in the Lord. This real nightly comfort can
only come to us by having the power of the Holy Ghost within us. The Spirit
of the Almighty God will soothe us and our restless spirit enabling us to
slept
in peace and comfort.
The psalm writer also declared that when he awakes from his sleep he
will not be afraid of the ten thousand that will come against him. Many
times
those that don't sleep in the comfort and peace of God when they awake they
fear that coming day and will hesitate to get out of bed. But those of us
who
slept in Christ will face the new day in thanks and without fear. If God can
bring you through the night he can surely take you through the next day and
give you victory every step of the way.
