"God, Sustainer of My Soul"
Text: Psalm 66:16
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done
for my soul.
Psalm 66 was our scripture reading in last Sunday's morning service
and the congregation was reading this Psalm aloud together. It seemed just
for
a moment of time when I read verse sixteen, I was fill with an unspeakable
joy because God had given to me something to tell his people. And I said to
myself, what a wonderful testimony this verse gives to the children of the
Most High God. Come and hear, all of ye that fear God, and I will declare
what
he hath done for my soul.
I am not going to tell how God has delivered me out of my many trials
and tribulations, I'm not going to tell you how he has healed me from all of
my diseases but I'm going to tell declare unto you that fear the Lord what
he has done for my soul. My soul, the eternal part of me that will live
through
out eternity, God has infused with ever lasting life.
I can only tell my testimony to those who fear the Lord because Jesus
said don't cast your pearls before the swine because they will only turn and
rend you. I declare unto you who have a reverential love for God and who
worship him in Spirit and in truth that my soul once was lost but now it has
been
found and filled with the joy of the Holy Ghost. The world is full of gloom
and doom but my soul sees the brighter day of the coming of God to receive
his church into glory.
My soul lives in the safety of God's eternal salvation which was
bought for me by the shed blood of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died
for me
on a tree on Calvary's rugged hill, who shed his precious blood for the
remission of my sins. Come and hear, and I will declare unto you what he
hath done
for my soul. Many people today are living in the fear of terrorist but my
soul lives in hope. Paul said speaking of Jesus, "By whom also we have
access
by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory
of God", (Rom 5:2).
"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and
lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul", (Mat
16:26)?
My soul is my most valuable possession. When the attacker of my soul falls
upon me with his manifold temptations, sometimes I win and sometimes I loose
the battle. But when I loose, "Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I
will declare what he hath done for my soul". When I fail him, God keeps his
hand
on me and tells me not to give up, don't through in towel because the battle
isn't over. He is a compassionate God and he helps my soul to humble itself
before him and seek his forgiveness and my soul is ready to fight again. The
next time you testify consider telling your brethren what God has done for
your soul.
Psa 66:5
Come and see the works of God: [he is] terrible [in his] doing toward the
children of men.
Psa 34:2
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear [thereof],
and be glad.
Psa 71:18
Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have
shewed thy strength unto [this] generation, [and] thy power to every one
[that]
is to come.
Mal 3:16
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD
hearkened, and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him
for
them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
1Ti 1:15
This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1Jo 1:3
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have
fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with
his Son Jesus Christ.
Psa 22:23
Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him;
and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
Psa 32:5
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I
will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the
iniquity
of my sin. Selah.
Psa 71:20
[Thou], which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me
again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
1Cr 15:8
And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
A fruitful harvest requires faithful service.
Galatians 6:9 states,
And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not.
