"God Hates Hypocrisy"

Text: Proverbs 11:1

A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his
delight.

This verse of scripture is speaking against dishonest business
practices. In all of our dealings with others the Lord requires honesty from
the saved
and the unsaved. When a person or business is dishonest with someone their
actions are an abomination in the sight of God. In ancient times market
businessmen
would use false weights and measures to determine how much one was required
to pay for what has been bought. If you bought something for two shekels or
dollar a pound and the dealer's pound measure weighed only fourteen ounces
he has committed a false balance against you and this is an abomination in
God's
sight.

Men are hypocrites in business and in life and hypocrisy has spilled
over into the church. Peter was a hypocrite before God showed him that no
man
should be consider common or unclean in relationship to the salvation of God
being made available to him. A hypocrite is one that puts on a false face
or mask and pretends to be something that he is not. We my friend have false
faces to hid our true emotions and feelings toward each other. Members of
the church will be walking down the aisle towards each other and one will
say "Praise the Lord" the pretender, the hypocrite in the Lord will look the
other way or act like they didn't hear your greeting. They may think that
you don't know what is going on but that is okay, but God knows the
hypocrite
and takes no delight in him or her.

The hypocrite will come to certain services or gatherings in the
church but if the word gets out that someone he dislikes is in charge they
won't
come but when they see that person next week they will say "Praise the Lord"
and shake your hand. Hypocrisy is an abomination with God and let us all
call upon the Lord to help us to be true to ourselves and to others.

Job speaks of the frailty of the earth. He says the greenness of it
doesn't have to be cut down but it will wither away and man is but of
yesterday,
and knows nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow. Job then tells
us of the plight of the hypocrite when he says, "So are the paths of all
that
forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:"(Job 8:13). The hypocrite
will not always be able to pretend and fool people. His hope of continued
deceit will be uncovered and all men will know what he is. He will perish
like an ice cube on a hot sidewalk in the sun, so let us be true to
ourselves
and to others.

Pro 16:11
A just weight and balance [are] the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag [are]
his work.

Pro 20:10
Divers weights, [and] divers measures, both of them [are] alike abomination
to the LORD.

Lev 19:35
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in
measure.

Deu 25:13
Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.

Hsa 12:7
[He is] a merchant, the balances of deceit [are] in his hand: he loveth to
oppress.

Amo 8:5
Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the
sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel
great,
and falsifying the balances by deceit?

Mic 6:10
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and
the scant measure [that is] abominable?

Pro 16:11
A just weight and balance [are] the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag [are]
his work.

Eze 45:10
Ye shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath.

A fruitful harvest requires faithful service.
 Galatians 6:9 states,
And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not.
