"God's Voice Has Power"
Psalm 29:7
The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
Psalm 29 is David's call of respect and fear of the voice of God. In this
psalm, David is expressing his respect and honor for the voice of God like
men respect, and fear a great thunder storm. Within the center of a thunder
storm are mega tons of power that comes in the form of the wind, the beating
rain, the rushing water and the fearful bolts of lightning with its sound,
all of which can work havoc upon the face of the earth.
David says the storm is the voice of God, he says God's voice is upon
the waters and in it is the glory of God that thunders and booms and shakes
the earth. Man and animal will flee and run for cover, the sound there of
will cause the hinds to calf and the cows to stop giving milk. I have even
heard
that the chickens won't lay and the fish won't bite, glory to the name of
our God.
The storm, the voice of God can tear down the mighty cedars of Lebanon
and make all of the wilderness shake in fear. The mountains will melt before
the Lord and even Sinai will bow down before him. David also says that the
voice of the Lord is like lightning and it comes as divided tongues of fire.
Man has scientifically found out that you can't hide from lightning, just
like the sinner can't hide from the voice of God. You can go into your
closet,
hide under the bed, even get in your car and if your body is the right
electronic potential for a bolt of lightning coming down from the sky or up
from
the earth it will find you and strike you.
When you give up to God and recognize Jesus as your Lord and Savior,
my friend you are the right potential for God. The spirit of his voice will
come
upon you as divided flames of fire, just like the day of Pentecost when the
Holy Ghost came and sat upon every believer as cloven tongues of fire,
filling
them with the power of God. And as the voice of God is heard in the storm,
when the Holy Ghost comes upon you will speak in other tongues as the spirit
give utterance.
The voice of God the word of God has power to save, and power to keep,
and power to lead his people into the glory of his eternal presence.
Psa 77:18
The voice of thy thunder [was] in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the
world: the earth trembled and shook.
Psa 144:5
Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall
smoke.
Exd 9:23
And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder
and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail
upon
the land of Egypt.
Lev 10:2
And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died
before the LORD.
Num 16:35
And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and
fifty men that offered incense.
2Ki 1:10
And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I [be] a man of
God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty.
And there
came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
Job 37:3
He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of
the earth.
Job 38:35
Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we
[are]?
A fruitful harvest requires faithful service.
Galatians 6:9 states,
And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not.
