DOLLAR SLIDES IN BRAZIL

Our former co-worker in Belo Horizonte, Eddison
Fowler, wrote yesterday in his December report:

   The value of the dollar has taken a
   nosedive on the international market
   during the last two years. Adding this to
   the inflation in Brazil, we have lost
   about fifty-five percent of our buying
   power here. We can now buy less than half
   of what we could back then on the same
   salary in dollars.

My wife had been telling me these things, from
buying groceries, paying bills, and purchasing
other necessary items.

With two sons in college now, that makes our
situation a tad delicate. Which we knew already
without Eddison's calculations, but it's always
helpful to have these things quantified.

Please pray that these financial straits do not
hinder the Lord's work.
