ACROSS THE REGION AND BEYOND
by J. Randal Matheny

Note: the webpage adds more news than what's
written below. Why not get it all there now?

* PERSONAL: The dollar continues dropping. Last
week, the exchange rate fell to R$2.00 for
US$1.00. Our buying power slowly erodes.

* TAUBATE: Valeria continues to take chemotherapy.
Her husband left her last year, so she's alone in
the city with her two children. Her mother has
come to help her for a while. See the webapage for
more about Valeria.

* SJCAMPOS: Sundays, Adauri is preaching a series
on Hebrews 11. Jorge is teaching adult Bible class
on the Sermon on the Mount.

* REGION: A sister from Belo Horizonte is
considering a job offer in Virginia, in southern
Minas Gerais state, about 70 km from
Guaratingueta. She called and wanted to know about
congregations in the area before she would even
consider the offer.

* REGION II: A brother from the state of Mato
Grosso do Sul has moved to Resende, in Rio de
Janeiro state. The closest church is
Guaratingueta, so some of us may provide some
support for him.

* SJCAMPOS: The last Sunday of the month is our
regular visitors day, with lunch following. Plans
are for brethren from Sao Sebastiao, down on the
coast, to join us for the day. It's always good to
have contact with them.

* SAO PAULO: A sister in West Virginia, US,
emailed for help for her son and his bride in Sao
Paulo, who are not Christians. She's evidently a
Brazilian. They married in a civil service and
want a religious service in the church. I put them
in contact with brethren in the capital.

* URBANOVA: A windstorm hit our neighborhood last
Friday, ripping roof tiles off most houses. On the
corner of our street, one house had 72 ceramic
tiles lifted and destroyed. We got off lucky but
still must have someone come to check the roof.

* WEBPAGE: On today's webpage, a photo taken
from my office window, more news, more details.
