Big Family News: Marriage in the Works
by J. Randal Matheny

* Son Micah and Valerie made it official last
week: They're engaged and will marry Dec. 15 of
this year. We're proud for them and of course will
be at the wedding in Huntsville, Ala. (Photo of
the pair in the link above.)

* Vagner, a young Christian from SJC, is helping
me out in the office. He's studying in a local
university at night, and because of his age
(military draft) can't find a job.

* In the Taubaté church, Jorge Santana is sharing
the pulpit with me. (Actually, it's a table.) He's
doing a sermon series on the home, and I'm
continuing my series on 1 Thessalonians.

* Some of our websites are offline for some
Brazilian surfers today. We're still investigating
the cause. The number of Brazilian Internet
surfers grew to a record 16.3 million in March, an
increase of 15.6% over February.

* The pope comes to Brazil -- and close to home --
next month to open a major Catholic conference in
the city of Aparecida. I'll be in the US to speak
in Hamilton, Ala., for a missions retreat when
he's here.

* This Sunday, the 29th, is the SJC church's
monthly Visitors Day. Pray we can get lots of
visitors to the special service. Following the
morning worship, we have a lunch at our rented
building.
