BZeal -- Zeal for God's house http://randalmatheny.com/doku.php?id=brazil [You received this email as a subscriber of the Brazil list at associate.com. See unsub information at end.] BZEAL WEEKLY 2007 June 4 Vicki and Leila Speak in Belo Horizonte by J. Randal Matheny * DISTAFF. Vicki and Leila fly to Belo Horizonte Friday for a women’s retreat. Vicki will speak on modesty to the full group, and Leila will give a testimony about her experiences. Pray for their safe trip and positive influence there. They return June 11. * JOEL AT HOME. Joel is home after a campaign to Belo Horizonte in May. He’ll stay through Leila’s birthday, then goes to Paragould, Ark., to work for the remainder of the summer. * BIRTHDAYS. Joel turns 21 June 12. Leila turns 15 the 16th. Since the 15th is the biggie for girls in Brazil, we’ll have a celebration also, but not the usual ball. She wanted a cookout at home and a special spiritual ceremony to mark the moment. * MICAH AT WORK. Micah is living in Henderson, Tenn., and working in Jackson for the summer. He turned 24 May 5. His fiancée, Valerie Horst, is living and working in her hometown, Huntsville, Ala. * EXCHANGE RATE. The dollar continues to fall. We traded last week at R$1.94 for one dollar, down from R$2.00 just a few weeks earlier. * UPLIFTING EVENT. Randal and Joel went to a Christian worker’s encounter June 2. For Randal’s thoughts on the event, see this link: * HOME FOR A BIT. After returning from the US Jan. 5, Randal made teaching trips to Recife, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, and Alabama. He hopes to stay in SJCampos for a few weeks now. * DRAGGING FEET. Pray that Joaquim in SJCampos and Odilio in Taubaté will decide to obey Christ. Randal taught them both some time ago, but they’ve delayed their obedience, even though they continue to faithfully attend on the Lord’s Day. ----- BZeal rejoices in the progress of the gospel in Brazil and around the world.
