Connie Giordano Who do you turn to when you need - ...deliverance, ...rescue from danger or peril, ...healing for your body, ...protection from all harm and evil, ...or provision for every need? There is only One Who is able to accomplish this Mighty Task. It is Jesus! He is able to save! Hebrews 7:25 - "Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them." Do you know of anyone who needs God's deliverance? Jesus is able to save! Do you know of anyone who needs to be rescued from danger or destruction? From injury or peril? Jesus is able to save! Do you know of anyone who is suffering from a disease and needs healing? Or desires to be made whole? Or is believing for a total restoration? Jesus is able to save! Do you know of anyone who needs God's protection, keeping and preserving power? Jesus is able to save! Do you know of anyone who is struggling beneath a heavy financial burden and needs God's Provision at this hour? Whose financial status for the future is on shaky ground? Who knows not where to turn - for all avenues of help or supply have been seemingly closed? Jesus is able to save! JESUS IS ABLE TO SAVE! What does that mean to you today? Daniel 3:17 - For Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego it meant that God was able to deliver them from the fiery furnace. Romans 4:21 - To Abraham it meant that God was able to perform His promise to give a son to a hundred year old man and a ninety year old woman. 2 Corinthians 9:8 - To all believers it means that God is able to make all grace abound whereby they have all sufficiency in all things. Ephesians 3:20 - God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that they ask or think. 2 Timothy 1:12 - God is able to keep what they commit into His hands Jude 24 - God is able to keep them from falling into temptation or any pit, snare, or trap set up by the devil. Hebrews 7:25 - Lastly, Jesus is able to save to the uttermost - perfectly, completely, absolutely - all those who come unto God by Him. JESUS IS ABLE TO SAVE! In Matthew 28:18, He declared - "...All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth." In Revelation 1:18, He declared - "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen: and have the keys of hell and of death." Isaiah 9:6 tells us of Him that "His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Matthew 8:27 tells us that "even the winds and the sea obey Him." Mark 1:27 tells us that "with authority commandeth He even the unclean spirits, and they do obey Him." Ephesians 1:22 tells us that all things are under His feet, and He is the "head over all things to the church." Lastly, 1 Peter 3:22 tells us that He is on the right hand of God; "angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto Him." JESUS IS ABLE TO SAVE! Isaiah 63:1 calls Him "mighty to save." John 17:2 says that He has power over all flesh. Acts 10:38 says - "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him." Jesus is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him. In John 14:6, He says - "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." Romans 5:2 says - "By Whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand..." Ephesians 2:18 says - "For through Him we both have access...unto the Father." And last of all, Romans 11:36 says - "For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things..." Hebrews 7:25 - "Seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them." Someone once said that "Intercession is standing in other people's shoes and representing them before God." Hebrews 2:14 tells us - "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same..." Romans 8:3 tells us that God sent His own Son in "the likeness of sinful flesh." Philippians 2:7 says that He "was made in the likeness of men." Lastly, 1 Timothy 3:16 says that "God was manifest in the flesh." Jesus took on our likeness - the likeness of sinful flesh - so that He could stand in our shoes, so to speak, and afterwards represent us before God. That is what He is doing for us right now - making intercession for us. He is an everlasting priest. The other high priests died and were then succeeded by another. Not Him! He ever liveth! No one will ever take His place. Hebrews 7:24 - He has "an unchangeable priesthood." Therefore, He is able to save us to the uttermost in all places, at all times, and in all circumstances. May we look unto Jesus today and be saved to the uttermost! May God Bless His Word. What a strange request! What did Elisha mean by making such a request? Was he depending on the music to get him into the mood for inspiration? There are many today that use music, endless singing, and repetitious choruses, to get them onto a ‘high’, into the mood for worship, speaking in tongues etc. Such practices are not of God. Elisha was very angry at the wicked practices of Jezebel and her son. Angry with the King of Judah, that he who knew better, should compromise with what was manifestly evil, and he would not attempt to give the message of God, while in an angry state. He needed the soothing ministry of the minstrel to soothe his spirit, to cool his anger. James tells us that “the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God”, Jas. 1:20. Somehow, Elisha knew this and those of us that minister God’s word must learn it too. How often a message that is right, but is delivered in anger, brings harm, division, and spiritual death. I remember a brother saying, that he had spent much time in preparing a powerful message, but he delivered that message in anger, in the heat of his spirit, in the energy of the flesh; with disastrous results. Once his ruffled spirit was calm, and his wrath was cooled, then the hand of the Lord, (Jehovah), came upon him, and God gave him a surprising message. They were to make the valley full of ditches thus they were to prepare for showers of blessing. Thus they were to act in faith, they were to believe God’s word, even though it seemed to be impossible to fulfil. Yet they would see no rain. God could not bless such an endeavour; He could not righteously support this unholy alliance. The showers were to fall elsewhere. He would pour out His blessing upon others, yet they would receive the overflow. So it was that in the morning, at the time of the morning sacrifice, the water came from a most unlikely place, not from Edom, but by the way of Edom. Arthur W. Pink .... As can be well imagined the Scriptures draw a sharp contrast between Christ and the pseudo Christ. It is remarkable how complete the antithesis is. We give a twelve-fold contrast between their various designations. The one is called the Christ (Matt. 16:16), the other the Anti-christ (1 John 4:3). The one is called "the Man of Sorrows" (Is. 53:3, the other "the Man of Sin" (2 Thess. 2:3). The one is called "the Son of God" (John 1:34), the other "the Son of Perdition" (2 Thess. 2:3). The numerical value (the gematria) of the name Jesus is 888, the number of the Anti-christ's name is 666 (Rev. 13:18). The one is called the Seed of the woman (Gen. 3:15), the other the Seed of the Serpent (Gen. 3:15). The one is called the Lamb (Is. 53:7). the other "the Beast" (Rev. 11:7). Christ is called "the Holy One" (Mark 1:24), the Anti-christ is termed "the Wicked One" (2 Thess. 2:8). The one is called "the Truth" (John 14:6), the other "the Lie" (John 8:44). The one is called "the Prince of Peace" (Is. 9:6), the other "the Profane Prince" (Ezek. 21:25). The one is called "the Glorious Branch" (Is. 4:2), the other "the Abominable Branch" (Is. 14:19). The one is called "the Good Shepherd" (John 10:11), the other "the Idol Shepherd" (Zech. 11:17). The one is called "the Mighty Angel" (Rev. 10:1), the other "the Angel of the Bottomless Pit" (Rev. 9:11). Not only do the Scriptures point a complete contrast between Christ and the Anti-christ in their several names and titles but the same is true in regard to their respective characters and careers. Christ came down from heaven (John 3:13), but the Anti-christ comes up out of the Bottomless Pit (Rev. 11:7). Christ came in Another's name (John 5:43), but the Anti-christ will come in his own name (John 5:43). Christ came to do the Father's will (John 6:38), but the Anti-christ will do his own will (Dan. 11:36). Christ wrought in the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:14), but the Anti-christ will be energized by Satan (Rev. 13:4). Christ submitted Himself to God (John 5:30), but the Anti-christ will defy God (2 Thess. 2:4). Christ "humbled" Himself (Phil. 2:8), but the Anti-christ will "exalt" himself (Dan. 11:36). Christ honored the God of His fathers (Luke 4:16), but the Anti-christ will refuse to do so (Dan. 11:37). Christ cleansed the Temple (John 2:14-16), but the Anti-christ will defile the temple (Matt. 24:15). Christ ministered to the needy (Luke 4:18), but the Anti-christ will refuse to do so (Zech. 11:16). Christ was rejected of men (Is. 53:3), but the Anti-christ will be accepted by all the world (Rev. 13:4). Christ "leadeth" His flock (John 10:3), but the Anti-christ will "leave" his flock (Zech. 11:17). Christ was slain for the people (John 11:51), but the Anti-christ will slay the people (Dan. 11:44). Christ glorified God (John 17:4), but the Anti-christ will blaspheme God (Rev. 13:6). Christ was received up into Heaven (Luke 24:51), but the Anti-christ goes down into Hell (Rev. 19:20).
