Greetings!
We are in the progress of migrating from SCO to Redhat Linux on one of
our servers. Since LRPng is alot like what we were using on SCO it
seems like a good choice for us. I am however having a problem with
banner printing that I am hoping someone can help me with. Currently we
are configured to use the lpbanner program to produce our banners. It
works OK for us since the output is being sent to an old CI300
lineprinter, but we would like to control what is printed on the banner
page. I have searched high and low for documentation on how to modify
the output of lpbanner but to date have not found anything but one
reference that said it was possible without giving any indication of how
the task is accomplished. I'm beginning to think that perhaps the
answer is just so simple that nobody has written about it. OK I admit
it, I'm a newbie when it comes to linux printing. Can anybody help?
One more question. The man page for lpbanner includes a number of
switches. How do you use these? I have tried adding them to the entry
in my printcap file that calls lpbanner but they do not seem to have any
effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
