I actually had a moment during my lunch hour...between bites of a particularly good Reuben sandwich....
to describe my kit. (such as it is) It is still a work in progress.
I don't mind so much not being able to play.... That time will come, Lord willing. I am enjoying the time...creating, thinking, tinkering
hunting parts.... Like the guy who spends years restoring an old 1930's ford....He doesn't worry a lot about driving it.
My Slingerland monster thus far:
All White Marine Pearl finish (except timbales)
2 - 24" x 14" bass drums
6", 8", 10", 12" concert toms (on my left)
12", 13", 14" closed rack toms (front)
14", 16" floor toms (on my left)
15", 16" floor toms (at my right)
10", 12" timbales (left)
Snares: 14" x 5 1/2" Slingerland (wood) from 1963
14" x 5" Gretch prototype / White Marine Pearl with black hardware ( The only one on the planet according to gretch)
14" x 6 1/2" Ludwig brass shell
14" x 6" Unknown maker / chrome shell that I plan to outfit with 1920 era brass lugs, hoops and claws.
All the drum stands are made by the Peace drum company. Timbales by Matador....
I have not yet moved into the world of cymbals.... I want to wait until I can test a lot of different ones.
That's it so far.... I'm far from finished.
I hope you are all having a great day.... May the Lord bless and keep you always!!
