Coffee Break
"The Best Gift"
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life." John 3:16
As you all know, I don't mail the Coffee Break out over the
weekend, and Monday I won't send one out because it is Christmas
day. So I want to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a
very Merry Christmas, "May the Lord bless you
abundantly." And as you are spending time that day
celebrating, remember the greatest gift you'll ever receive was not given
by a person (a family member or friend)... it was given by God. It
wasn't wrapped in beautiful paper and tied up with a bow... it was
wrapped in swaddling clothes. It wasn't placed under a tree for you
to find... it was placed in a manger. This gift wasn't paid for
with a credit card... it was paid in full. It was only for a select
few... it was "one size fits all".
This gift, of course, was the precious Son of God. God
loved you so much and sent the best gift He had. He didn't go to
the "recycle bin". He didn't choose it from what was
"left over". He didn't run out and buy it on the spur of
the moment. He took great thought and get care in giving it to
you. He had this gift planned before the foundation of the world
and waited eagerly, and patiently, to give it to you at the right
time...."in the fullness of time". If you have not
received this gift in the past, do receive it this year. Receive it
today... today is the day of salvation, now is the acceptable time.
Before you unwrap any other gift, unwrap this one... you will find it
there waiting for you. And you will find that it is the best
one.
Have a great day. Have you received the greatest gift
you'll ever receive? The gift of eternal life through Jesus
Christ?
