Matthew 4:4 In other words, man shall live by every word of God. As Christians we are suppose to be living our lives by God's word. Not by the words of man's philosophies, not by other people's opinions, not by our own thoughts, but by God's word. And we are to be living it by "every" word of God. Not just by the word that we want to live by; not only by the words that are convenient; not by the word we like; but by "every" word. If the word of God says, "Don't"... we don't. If it says turn the other cheek, we turn the other cheek. If it says give, we give. If it says forgive, we forgive. If it says deny ourselves, we deny ourselves. If it says seek God, we seek God. Are you getting the picture? I don't know what's so complicated for most folks. What is so complicated about, "Thou shalt not steal, kill, or commit adultery"? What is so complicated about, "Love your enemy"? Granted practicing the word of God is not always easy, but what He says about how we are to live our lives is not complicated. How are you living your life? Are you living it by the word of God? Are you living it by all the word? Are you picking and choosing what you want to live by and what you don't? Are you endeavoring to live it by even the parts that are hard and cause the flesh to die? Or are you skipping over those parts and only doing the "pleasant" part? Is your speech in line with the word? Is your attitude lining up with the word of God? Do you make your choices based on the word of God? Is your thinking renewed with the word of God? Do you respond, act and walk in accordance with the word of God? Something to think about, isn't it? But according to Jesus that's where the whole of our life is lived... though the word of God, every word of it. Have a great day.
