Coffee Break "The Universe" "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" Psalm 8:3,4 There are trillions of stars, other galaxies, more planets than ours- the universe is so vast, we have only explored a small portion of it. When you consider how great it is, and how small we are, it is amazing that God notices us at all. The stars are bigger than our own planet, they are without number, yet God knows them all by name. When you consider this, again, it's amazing that God notices us at all. We are the least of the least in the immeasurable universe. But we are the ones that God sent His Son to die for; we are the ones that He desires to have a relationship with. It amazes me each time I look at the heavens and realize that out of all there is, God loves me and cares for me more than He does for anything else. I am the object of His love and affection. I am the one who gets His attention. I am the one that He keeps His eyes on. I am the one He hears cry. I am the one He will move heaven and earth for. Me... ME! ME! ME! And not just me, but YOU! In the vastness of the universe, God still sees one little tear that you cry. He still hears one small sigh that you make. He still hears every word that you say. He still moves at even the smallest faith you can muster up. He still knows the number of hairs on your head and recounts each time you lose just one. He sees you, He hears you, He knows you, He cares about you, He loves you. This evening go outside and look up at the stars. As you do, think about how small you are in comparison, then remember that He cares more about you than He does about all that you are looking at. He loves you that much! Have a great day.
