Yes Tom, my cut and copy from Number was an honest mistake. The two accouts
are very similar in the Bible. My point still stands though, that the
Jericho story is a terrible story about God's people murdering men, women,
and children and that this story might no be the best story for a theme
event. The Numbers quote that I mistakenly used was to offer data that shows
that the people of Moses did not always kill everyone to stop a foreign
entity from infecting the people of Moses. In the Jericho "God ordered"
slaughter, everyone was killed, in the Midianite "God Ordered" slaughter, the
virgin women were saved for the people of Moses to use.
I am sorry for any confusion this might of caused.
