Hello CU Listers, The Lord's blessings on us all! Here's another well thought out, scriptural comment on the healing issue, this one cross-posted here via the BeGod's mailing list at egroups, originally from th God's Daily Word ministry. Please enjoy, and comment. Love in Jesus, Tim More Than Healing: We've all been in bad situations which have caused us to cry out and wonder why God didn't just reach down and make things right. Why didn't He just remove the enemy? Why didn't He take away the hurt? Why didn't He heal? Mary watched her brother Lazarus become increasingly sick. She had seen first hand the miraculous healing power of Jesus and had requested His help. However, by the time Jesus arrived, Lazarus had died. John 11:32 "When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw Him, she fell at His feet and said, 'Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.'" We know that Jesus did not need to be in the presence of Lazarus in order to heal him. While still far away, Jesus could have spoken a word and completely cured Lazarus. However, Jesus allowed Lazarus to die. The need to strengthen the faith of those around Lazarus was more important than healing his illness. John 11:40 "Then Jesus said, 'Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?'" Jesus then proceeded to raise Lazarus from the dead! God has the ability to "fix" every situation, but His plan is so much more. His plan is for us to know Him and His glory - to grow while being strengthened and refined through every trial - with a faith tested by fire. Trust God to refine and strengthen - trust Him to reveal Himself to us each and every day - trust Him to fill our lives with more than healing. Have a Great Day!
