Feast of Barnabas the Apostle

A united confession of the Name, a united worship of the Father,
the Son, and the Spirit -- such a Confession, such a Worship, as the past
contains only a dim shadow of -- we have a right to look for. It may come
when we least expect it; it will probably come after a period of darkness,
fierce contention, utter disbelief. But the confession will only be united
when we cease to confound our feeble expressions of trust and affiance, our
praises and adorations, with Him to whom they rise, from whom they proceed;
when we are brought to nothingness, that He may be shown to be all in all.

Commentary and scripture:

His name is Love. A united confession of the Name - is unity in the love He
commanded - unity in His eternal love for whosover believeth to repentance,
including believers of all Christian denominations and groups.

Jesus is one in the one Spirit of God, and both the Father and the Son are
love. Jesus is the name of God's eternal, unbounded, all-powerful love for
all God's children, freely offered to all who will believe to repentance in
that name. All who believe in the name of Jesus repent and do
righteousness, and love all who do likewise.

(1 John 3:10-11 AV)

"10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not
his brother. 11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning,
that we should love one another."

(1 John 4:8)

"8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."

(John 13:34-35 AV)

"34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have
loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that
ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

All men shall know we are disciples (followers) of the One sent by God, and
so shall we be, when we are following Jesus. We follow Jesus into His love
for all God's children, and continue there with Him, in God's love for all
of us, for all God's children.

(John 15:8-12 AV)

"8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my
disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye
in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even
as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These
things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that
your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

We follow Jesus to the point of laying down our own lives in love and
service to *all* believers, just like He did, so we can be the friends of
Jesus who obey His new commandment showing that we know unity in God's love
for all His children is what our Lord Jesus doeth in us.

(John 15:13-17 AV)

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his
lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard
of my Father I have made known unto you. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I
have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the
Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another."

(John 17:22-23 AV)

"22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be
one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made
perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast
loved them, as thou hast loved me."

(1 John 4:11-15 AV)

"11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No
man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us,
and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and
he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do
testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him,
and he in God.

God is love; Jesus is love. As Jesus is God's love in the world for all
God's children, so are we God's love in the world for all God's children, as
Jesus is, when we are the perfect whole dwelling together in God, dwelling
together in His love for all His children, with God's love, Jesus, God's
love for all His children, dwelling in each of us.

(1 John 4:16-17)

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love;
and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is
our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:
because as he is, so are we in this world. "

That love is both the eternal love and righteousness of God, the eternal
gift of grace, in which all God's children dwell together eternally. In
that love and righteousness is everyone who believes in Jesus to repentance,
of every Christian denomination and group, for there is no difference.

(Romans 3:22-26 AV)
"22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all
and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have
sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his
grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set
forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just,
and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."

"when we are brought to nothingness, that He may be shown to be all in all."
