Matthew 24:6 - 9, "And ye shall hear of wars and roumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. The shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake." I've heard that the "nation shall rise against nation" portion of this in the Greek is ethnos against ethnos, where ethnos is the basis for the word ethnic. So, without loss of generality, ethnic group(s) shall rise against another ethnic group(s). I always think of this when there's news of civil strife. I'm not one to have studied end-time prophecy so, there are probably others on this list far more knowledgeable than me on the subject. But it has entered my mind with the Kosovo bombings. Now that America has started to interfere, wouldn't it seem pretty easy for this to begin the persecution that is to occur during the tribulation. Just imagine with me for a minute, if Jesus raptured the church today, where would that leave this conflict? It is possible, those who remain could not win this war. And all those nations, like Iraq, who have been waiting to tear into the US could jump in. What would the result be? Nothing like we've ever seen before, that's for sure. Something to think about. I'm sure there are other ideas in the group on this, and I'd appreciate you sharing them.
