This week offers an unprecedented opportunity for our nation to come together to pray for its leaders and for our future. Under a joint resolution of Congress, December 4th has been designated the National Day of Reconciliation. From 7:00 PM-9:00 PM, the Rotunda of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., will be the focal point of the event, hopefully to be attended by many of our elected representatives and governmental leaders. We urge each member of the Presidential Prayer Team to have their own time of prayer and thanksgiving and to invite others to pray with them for our nation. Pray specifically for the President as he conveys America's sorrow to Israel in the wake of last weekend's horrific suicide bombings there. Pray for continued wisdom on the part of the President and military leaders in regard to other regions of the world that may require military action to root out known terrorists and destroy terrorist training facilities. Pray for continued vigilance on the part of all Americans and that we will never forget those who died at the hands of terrorists on September 11th. Give thanks this week for the successes that have been achieved in Afghanistan.
