Today's Devotion Friday, April 4, 2003 "For we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7) Today's Thoughts Turn your eyes upon Jesus . . . and the things of earth will grow strangely dim . . . " Fixing our gaze on the Author and Finisher of our faith will certainly cause awareness of our life's circumstances to diminish. Everyday, each one of us face situations and circumstances that tell us we're defeated or we've missed it . . . all opportunities for us to accept the guilt and condemnation that the enemy would weigh us down with. We all go through times where we are unsure of God's presence . . . feeling totally alone and vulnerable. However, walking by faith means that we MUST experience these times in order for the Lord to show us His mighty arm in the midst of our circumstances. We have a commission to walk by faith knowing that our Heavenly Father is very able to keep us even in the midst of our darkest hour. Don't let your eyes deceive you and cling to His promises . . . "walk by faith, not by sight!" Today's Prayer Heavenly Father, my flesh grows weak and my faith diminishes so easily. Father, help me to keep my gaze fixed on You and Your promises so my circumstances in life won't overwhelm me. My heart's sole desire is to serve You, to love You, to worship You, not only in deed, but through steadfast faith in Your ability to keep me from all harm. I love you, Lord! Amen! Have a blessed day! Jan Ross jan@... http://todaysdevotion.com "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." (Psalm 84:10) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----
