Dear friends, Our church (the Ladies Ministries in particular) is hosting a fall style show to raise money to go toward our mission project of building an orphanage in Haiti. The Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, August 26 at noon at The Potter's House Church of God in Columbus, OH. This event is being put together and choreographed by professional models, complete with live music, semi-formal luncheon, black-tie waiters, etc. The tickets are $28.00 each for advanced reservations -- $20.00 of the ticket goes directly toward this mission project and will be matched dollar for dollar by an anonymous donor. The church's goal for this project in August is $50,000 of which we hope to raise $10,000. All money donated this month toward this project will be matched by a member in our congregation. We have a young lady, just graduated from Lee University, who has felt the calling of God to work with a ministry in Haiti to build an orphanage. The Potter's House, along with another church, are collaborating to complete this project. This young lady will be leaving for Haiti the first of September; property has already been selected, and designs are already in progress for the structure itself. Filling it with children, however, will be no problem as homeless and needy children are everywhere. We would love to have everyone come and join us for this special day although we realize that distance may pose a bit of a problem <g>. However, we've had some people send in donations or purchase an ad in the program showing their support. Ads are available for various prices starting at $10 for a business card size ad and going to $50 for a full-page ad.
