ALABASTER HEART "And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask or fragrant oil, and stood at His feet . . . she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head . . . "Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little." Then He said to her, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace." Luke 7:37-50 I did not know if I should enter . . . with trembling fear, my feet did pause. From the burdens I carried, things I'd done and pain I'd caused. Not caring what others thought of me and the shame which held me tight. I pushed forward through the others, hoping sin would not hide me from His sight. His face was there before me . . . As I stood in the presence of the Son. I could feel my heart was breaking . . . sinking to my knees . . . I was undone. But when His eyes fell upon me, my dark heart began to break . . . and from inside there came an oil . . . the cost of which was great. No one could know what I was feeling, when He held out His hand to me. Tears of joy became the ointment which I used to wash His feet. My heart became as alabaster . . . the scented oil began to flow. For my sins were as a gift to Him, And He wanted all to know. "This is my daughter," He said to them. "The oil she brings was bought at a price you can't imagine . . . from a life that sin had wrought." He knew the cost I'd paid for my alabaster oil. You see, He knew and yet He loved me. What I feared, was only satan's foil. At that moment, it no longer mattered all the things that I had done. He was the one who loved me. He was the Father's Son. From my heart of alabaster, Came the oil that set me free. As in His hand it broke, . . . releasing what had imprisoned me. No matter the earthly price or the sins and burdens that fill your heart. . . Allow it to be broken . . . . . . and it becomes an ALABASTER HEART! Jan Ross rross@...
