It really is a good point.  I don't see an exact match for perception,
but...

My thought is we should probably try to keep it as simple as we can.
If you could use a wisdom ( OLMN provided insight to purpose ) or a
vision ( OLMN focused your attention to the object/movement) for those
checks, thought they might not be exactly a perfect match, it should
be close enough for game play.  Another example would be controlling a
water craft might use a Water Movement check.  This would not be a
perfect match, but all these scores are made up to begin with so it
really doesn't matter.  Some might enjoy a more complex scoring system
for all the possible abilities and skills, but for me I need keep it
simple where I can.
