If I might interject. It seems to me that for a game that is always defended as purposely and carefully kept simple for the ease of discipleship, that the very idea of including a whole new skill for SB in order to reflect a penalty is out of place. Wouldn't the idea of penalizing a rogue LR be better served by a simple penalty to their current weapons abilities and/or defense modifiers? For simplicity sake, (and to maybe render this whole discussion mute) why not make it a flat penalty of -3 To Hit and -2 to Shield of Faith when necessary no matter what your other skills and characteristics are or what level your character may have attained? I personally think the idea of Solo Battle is just plain unnecessary. If I, as the AM, want to penalize my players, I just do it with simple subtractions to the desired ability. If you want simple. I'd say that is it. Nevermind all the discussion on the spiritual understanding of SB and how to make it better.
