Actually, the Viking helmets with the horns were mostly ceremonial, owing
to the belief that you could incorporate the characteristics of an animal
by wearing part of it.  It would have been foolish to wear them in
battle, since the horns would direct an enemy's weapon directly at your
noggin.  Just a thought.  Sounds like a cool (no pun intended) project.
