Sam sent me this email and said I could send it to the list. He is
on the list too, so if you want to comment feel free to do so. Lots
of questions! :-)

David,
I appreciated hearing your session report, as well as getting in touch
with me personally. If you wish to post parts or all of this note on
the list, feel free to do so.
I started a DR group about a month ago, but due to scheduling, we have
met only twice. I run the group, since I have been through all the
adventures, already. There were four of us for the LRT, my wife, her
younger brother, and their cousin. They all did well, and
they have grown up in the church, so the lessons were not too difficult
for them to figure out. The only thing that seems to be of trouble is
the actual role-playing, in a sense: They know that their character is
being "attacked" or enchanted, so they try to be themselves instead of
their character. I see this as both good and bad. Good that they know
what sin is, and that it is wrong. Bad, because they go beyond the
powers of their character's abilities. Am I being too nit-picky about
this, or is there something to be said or done? I have definately
chosen the harder mind speech when the time comes in the RSS. Also, now
we have started the RSS, and we had a new player join, which is not a
problem at this point, even though she has not completed the LRT. The
problem is that she is a new Christian(which is GREAT! Don't get me
wrong) However, she has never
seen the verses used for WR, before. So, as the "churched" kids that
have grown up in the Word pick up quickly on new WR's, she feels slow
and even somewhat hurt that she doesn't seem to catch on as quickly. Is
there a chunk of advice that you or someone might have for me? Please
share. I don't want to see her scared off by such matters. Aside from
the WR's, she caught on quickly, and is more than willing to step in and
help to make decisions in an orderly fashion.
We raid every Friday, after they get out of school, and my wife and I
get out of classes. Then, later in the evening, we go to the youth
group worship service at our church, which we all are currently involved
in. Overall, the day is full of learning, praying, and worshipping,
which is a must for any healthy relationship with God.
