Dear ones, I think that Kevin's question speaks to more than just DR: It speaks to a great extent to the church today. We have new believers who do not really know "the ropes" yet, and who need it to be kept simple. Then we have those who either have been with it for awhile, or those who need indepth answers, and want and need more depth and complexity. For many churches, this is a serious problem. You either bore some people or leave others in the dust. That seems to be the problem here. Fortunately, there is a (relatively) simple solution for the problem in DR, and maybe someone would want to develop it. Just as D&D has regular and Advanced versions, we could do that as well. DR2Ed and Advanced DR2ED. One specifically for new gamers and one for experienced gamers with more detail, more complexity. Unfortunately, those who are developing DR2ED are pretty well tied up in that. It may fall to others to develop the other, in conjunction with the folks doing DR2ED. Or, you could just let the AM handle it with house rules. You do see what I mean. Just a suggestion from the Aged One. Also, did I miss something, or was not the purpose of the Wood Sprites to aggravate LR's, but to do them damage took more energy than it was worth? They may not have much battle ability, but they are maneuverable beyond belief and quick as lightning. If you do hit one, it's probably by accident. And they can't do a lot of damage anyhow. It seems to me that they are there to illustrate that some things are just better ignored. Wear yourself out fighting Wood Sprites, and what happens when you meet a band of mound orcs or a troll? I was under the impression that the Wood Sprites were designed to teach us how to choose our battles. Comments? In the OLMN, Dariel the Aged aka Dave Milner
