Hello, The d20 lisence IS rather tricky and subject to revision at the owners descretion (without consulting independant companies that produce d20 products). This along with a completely different character emphasis, and game effects the conversion is much harder than is really worth it. I personally dont mind the d20 system itself, but it is a combat oriented system with very little game balence concerning character development. A d20 character with a sin enchantment would really only suffer from an alignment switch (leaning toward evil) and perhaps Wisdom damage. Few d20 players would be intimidated by this when a gelatinous cube is around etc. Dragonraid having a d20 lisence would be bad-press over-all. In-fact I think that it would bring people like chic publishing down on dragonraid like a fox on a duckling. Those are folks who dont bother with confirming their sources before making statements. Do you want to see The Evil of Dragonraid tract stuck under your windshield? I sure dont. But still, if you want to convert DR to a homebrew game nobody here will stop you (presumably). But you should know that the conversion wont be easy. Classes, Wordrunes, and Sin-enchantment rules would have to be worked up. And if your crew is confused by DR, I am pretty sure that they wont be much help with developing balenced house rules with a munchkin-fest like the d20 system. -Aaron > > From: "Scott Newcomb" <snewcomb1@...> > Date: 2004/01/26 Mon PM 09:00:48 GMT > To: <dragonraid@...> > Subject: [DragonRaid] Any thoughts on d20 system > > Actually one of the biggest problems (as I understand it)is in order to use > the d20 system you have to agree to use the D&D Players Handbook for > character creation and there were some other things you had to use from the > game too but I can't remember what they were. > > Scott Newcomb > > snewcomb1@... > > -- > > To unsubscribe, send ANY message to: dragonraid-unsubscribe@... > > >
