First, the easiest thing to do is to give new players pre-generated characters. There are 10 to choose from in the back of the AMM. If the player decides to keep playing, he can either generate his own character or keep using the one you gave him. Second and third ideas - here are two simplified systems for generating characters; DragonRaid Lite Character Generation This version of DR character generation retains the formula based system, but the formulas are simpler. So, all the calculations are still there, but a player should be able to run through them in less than 15 minutes.
