God Blessed Esau to Bless Israel
By Don Ruhl

As Israel journeyed through the wilderness, they passed through the territory of Esau. While passing through Esau, God said to Israel, "You shall buy food from them with money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water from them with money that you may drink" (De. 2:6). A conservative count of Israel during the wandering was 3 million! How much food and water did they buy from Esau in one day? What did that sudden sale do to the resources of Esau? It must be that God had already blessed Esau with abundance or was about to, so that Esau would not lack, but that Esau had enough for itself and for Israel.

Why does God bless us with abundance?
