03.20.2008 New Testament
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 1.57-80 on March 20, AD 2008

God Did It
By Don Ruhl

The parents of John the Baptizer were old, but God made a promise to them that they would have a son. Luke 1.57 says, "Now Elizabeth's full time came for her to be delivered, and she brought forth a son" (Luk 1.57). Did people reproach her for being an older woman who got pregnant and then had a child? Read the next verse, "When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her" (v. 58). Also, people in the Bible did not ridicule someone for having many children.

Does your attitude fit the thinking of our biblical heroes on the matter of having children?
