I might have said that he was sutbbornly disobedient, but I would 
not have been as strong in my response as "contumacious."

I think the last time I heard this word, I was in a Jesuit Prep School.
(And, it was undoubtedly addressed to someone else!, not to a 
saintly young fellow like myself.)

If there are questions about validity of orders, let's have everyone's
bishops lay hands on everyone else.  (This would even quiet down 
the ACCs if they would consider it.  Of course, there is always the
danger of getting one's hands dirty.)
