I recently purchased the "New Dictionary of Biblical Theology" (IVP) and am thrilled with it...I have used it in writing two of my sermons so far. Another great series (I only have volume 5 so far) is the "Scripture and Hermeneutic Series" edited by my Old Testament and Hebrew professor, Craig Bartholomew. These books really help to give the bigger picture of the whole of God's redemptive purposes from Genesis through to Revelation. I highly recommend them as practical aids to preaching and teaching. BTW, I am planning to go through the Psalter during Lent using the book "Singing in the Reign" by Michael Barber. He highlights the five-fold structure of the Psalter and so one can basically take Psalsm from these sections and preach through the whole by refering to the overall theme of each section. This book is a must read anyway. I will send my proposed outline next. The Rev. Fr. Johann W.
