Correct. I think psychologically the desire to grow close to the blessed 
departed, especially those we have known and love, is a good thing, but it can 
lead to the temptation to "go around" God. This issue of growing close to the 
blessed departed deserves more pastoral and theological attention. Ultimately, we 
grow closer to the saints by growing closer to the Head, Christ, since they 
are already closer to him than we are. The closer the Church Expectant and the 
Church Militant grow to God Almighty, the closer they grow to one another.
