Subject: Re: [FaithandLife] Three Year Lectionary--question

Bless you Charles, I couldn't agree with you more. We are not using the
new
Common three year lectionary which is full of political correctness. We
are
using a continuing Church form that is sound and gives our people more
exposure to sacred Scripture. Let's face it brothers, our people are not
for the
most part doing Morning and Evening Prayer. They are getting their
exposure
to the Bible on Sundays or during weekday Bible studies. If your people
are
anything like mine, even though I am the chief cheerleader for Bible
studies
and the daily offices, I get little response. I practically beat them over
the head about coming to the midday Ascension Eucharist and had only six
show
up. This was after people had said to me, "Father, we don't feel
comfortable
driving at night, if you have one at noon, we will come." Well, I did, and
they didn't. Then I reminded them last Sunday about what they told me and
nobody responded at all. So, I think the three year lectionary as we have
it
in the APA is wonderful and has been accepted well here. I also love the
new
ESV and frankly I like the new KJV as well.
