Brothers+ After a nap this Sunday afternoon, I looked at some of the notes from Synod. The best part of Synod is meeting and greeting, the strong singing, the deep prayers and celebrations. There was evidence of strong growth this year in ministries as well as in numbers. Please brothers, chime in and help me on this as I did not hear and note down everything. Here are a few of the statistics, correct me if I'm wrong. Last synod there were 40 congregations, now there are 44. The APA has 5 Bishops, 65 Priests, 16 Deacons and 2 Deaconesses. There were 36 Clergy and 46 Lay delegates at Synod. I did not hear properly the number of postulants and priests of other communions applying for reception. The number was large and augurs well for our future as new missions are being established every month. The Parishes for the most part reported increased numbers of confirmations. Over all the reports reflected increased giving, not only for local projects but also for missions. The optimism and reports of new starts are a sign of a healthy church. There were a few reports of no growth or small losses, but no talk of closing churches. Would someone please forward the number of new clergy? Charles+ Church of the Good Shepherd
