I think the model that the Orthodox follow is the best one for orthodox Anglicanism in America, but for it to work the episcopate actually has to exert authority over those bishops who deviate from the Catholic Faith. Yes, there is jurisdictional chaos (esp in the United States) and various theologies and emphases within Orthodoxy, which many who look at Orthodoxy unrealistically and romantically don't seem to see. It is the same sort of thing we see in the Continuum (which should make us feel at bit better about ourselves). There's an OCA parish, an Antiochian parish, and a Greek Orthodox parish all within driving distance of one another where I live. The difference is that each Orthodox body recognizes the orthodoxy and catholicity of the other bodies and there is a standing committee of Orthodox bishops in America. If one of the Orthodox bodies started to ordain women (it'll never happen) they'd be out of American Orthodoxy--the other bishops would stand up for the
Faith. The ECUSA house of bishops stopped standing up for orthodox and catholic faith and practice long ago.
