Here's some more info: http://washingtontimes.com/national/20060628-082643-2405r.htm Minns has consulted with his ECUSA bishop (+Lee) and is planning to step down as rector of Falls Church (timetable unkown). We don't know what ++Akinola is thinking or planning in regard to coordination with Anglcans in the U.S. Obviously it would have been good had he consulted with +Duncan or +Riches (with whom he first corresponded), and although unlikely, we don't know that he didn't. Nigeria is a blessing, but at the same time it is a steamroller of sorts. It's hard to imagine the energy and responsibility ++Akinola gives to his own province as it grows at a pace of a million parishioners some years. And with the rest that is going on in the Nigeria denominations (he's head of the major ecumenical group) and in Nigerian politcs, government corruption, Islamic jihad (he regularly speaks to all these issues), and all the Primatial stuff, I'm not surprised we can get lost in his bigger picture. Hopefully things become more orderly in the next few years.
