But surely, in Anglicanism's view, one of the corruptions of the medieval 
church was that all these positions were part and parcel or en route to 
clerical orders.  I would say that whatever one thinks of opening these 
ministries to women, we should play them up as ministries for the laity and 
not as presbyteral or sacerdotal functions ceded to non-clerics.
