You are correct that the scriptures are silent concerning Mary on this issue, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen because it could have. That, as I understand it, is sort of the way a personal piety goes. A personal piety cannot contradict scripture. The belief of many that Mary was assumed bodily into heaven does not contradict scripture, but in her case it cannot be proven by scripture. gms+
