Dear Fr. Scott:
I'd love to see you paper. Could you make it available to us on the
list?
I would appreciate all of your prayers for serveral issues: I am with
my aged and somewhat ailing parents. I have taken them to the beach
with me this week. I would appreciate your prayers for their health and
contentment. Also please remember a family in my parish who are
seperated. I have seen in the last 24 hours some ray of hope for
reconciliation. Thanks.

Subject: [FaithandLife] THANK YOU
Padres+
Thank you for the discussions regarding Communion,
Baptism, Confirmation, the Prayer Book, etc.
Fr Brian+ asked that someone bring the
chrismation/confirmation issue to the attention of our
Bishops. He acknowledged they were already aware of
our concerns and the complexity of the problems.
Having expressed my opinions a couple of years ago, I
didn't join the discussion this round, but was
encouraged that so many of you think that Rome erred
in separating the "sealing in the Holy Spirit" from
Baptism and that our bishops should visit the issue to
bring order to our practice.
I have summarized the many posts and passed the gist
on to Bishop Grundorf who kindly visited Good Shepherd
for the purpose of Confirmation. Due to his schedule,
we had little time to talk, but his sermon and a brief
telephone conversation assured me that he is well
aware of the pastoral problems we all face and the
need to address these questions with the bishops.
Also, Bishop Grundorf was kind enough to read a
lengthy paper I wrote on this subject. I believe our
concerns will be addressed and there will no need for
anyone to "go it alone".
Again, I'm grateful for your thoughtful offerings.
Your exchanges has made service in the Midwest less
lonely.
