WE generally use the NKJV. No translation has been proscribed in
the REC. For the Psalter, most still use Coverdale from the prayer book.
From my narrow field of discussions with others I'd guess about fifty/fifty
on the use of the traditional Prayer Book translation for Scripture readings
Lord's Day worship. The most common alternatives are KJV or the NKJV, the
NASB gets infrequent use. No one I've spoken with likes the NIV or other
contemporary versions, with perhaps one exception - the ESV seems to have a
positive "first show" for some, although I do not know of anyone using it in
Lord's Day worship yet. It still has that "unproven" feel about it. I have
used quotes from the ESV in a few of my sermons during the last year but
only after diligently checking against language (GK.& Heb.)and other
trustworthy translations. Sometimes the ESV wording or phrasing seems to fit
best. Only sometimes.

New e-mail address?
What English translation are you folks using up there? Any idea what most
of the rest of the REC is using?
Thanks,
