At St. John's, we use  Gospels and Epistles in the 1928 Prayer Book for Holy
Communion (lst, 2nd, and 3rd Sundays) ; and, by  consensus of the lay
readers we almost always use  the New English Bible for lessons at Morning
Prayer (2nd and 4th Sundays).  Issues brought up by variations in
translations I can handle from the pulpit; e.g., St. Paul's advice to
advocates of mandatory circumcision -- Go "cut yourselves off!" For Psalms
we use the Great Bible version in the BCP except for a few, say, the "Mighty
23rd," from the AV.  We may sample other versions--no paraphrases--from time
to time--primarily as illustrations of semantics and/or bias in
translations.
